Other makes of guards are not specifically designed to protect instrumentation from process liquids containing suspended solids. Of the three styles of Appcor slurry guards, we rate the S875 as being “GOOD”. An oversized process fitting will assist in minimizing accumulation of solids in the guard housing. The S875 guard has ¾” to 1¼” process connections, 1¼” being the most popular. Gauge connections can be ¼” or ½”. A ¼” purge connection is located in the process side housing.
